HEADS is an ongoing collection of surrealist sculptures built from 25+ years of shared experiences.
They are a conversation around identity and subconscious. They are stories about personality and relationships.
Each begins by selecting items from a collection of found objects.
Each object is a result of a set of unique experiences, choices, and environments — each a topic of conversation, a chapter in the story.
A fascination with medical imagery combines the objects into something familiar, yet foreign.
The inner workings of the body and mind set the tone of the conversation. They define the setting of the story.
They are made in pairs, and collaboration — the sharing of ideas, the overlap of lives — drives creation.
Creation is a dialogue. It is character, conflict, theme, & resolution coming together into a cohesive narrative
The result is HEADS.
